Veterinarian

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive medical care to shelter cats, including vaccinations, spaying/neutering, and treatment of illnesses or injuries.

• Conduct health evaluations and develop treatment plans for cats upon intake and throughout their stay at the shelter.

• Perform surgical procedures, such as spaying/neutering and dental cleanings, with precision and care.

• Monitor the health and well-being of shelter cats, identifying and addressing any medical concerns promptly.

• Collaborate with shelter staff to ensure the highest standards of care and welfare for all cats.

• Educate shelter staff and volunteers on proper animal care practices and provide guidance on health-related issues.

• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all shelter cats.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school.

• Valid license to practice veterinary medicine in the state.

• Experience working with shelter animals preferred, but not required.

• Strong surgical skills and experience performing spaying/neutering procedures.

• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.

• Compassionate demeanor and genuine concern for the well-being of animals.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with staff and volunteers.
