Veterinarian
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive medical care to shelter cats, including vaccinations, spaying/neutering, and treatment of illnesses or injuries.
Conduct health evaluations and develop treatment plans for cats upon intake and throughout their stay at the shelter.
Perform surgical procedures, such as spaying/neutering and dental cleanings, with precision and care.
Monitor the health and well-being of shelter cats, identifying and addressing any medical concerns promptly.
Collaborate with shelter staff to ensure the highest standards of care and welfare for all cats.
Educate shelter staff and volunteers on proper animal care practices and provide guidance on health-related issues.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all shelter cats.
Qualifications:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school.
Valid license to practice veterinary medicine in the state.
Experience working with shelter animals preferred, but not required.
Strong surgical skills and experience performing spaying/neutering procedures.
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
Compassionate demeanor and genuine concern for the well-being of animals.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with staff and volunteers.
